1980 Kawasaki kz550 exhaust

Looking for a performance alternative. The only thing I've been able to locate is a Mac4-1. Is there any alternatives? Any other model years that interchange?

Have you check out Webike? They have lots of tasty pipes. I think anything for the gpz400 or zephyr400 should fit a kz550 with minimal to no modification (but you'll want to verify. In both cases the 550 is just an overbored 400).

Can anybody confirm that the z400 is the same as the kz550 in terms of external engine dimensions? :dry:

yes, z400J just the same as the twinshock z550A z500 gpz550 D1.

The Japs have a home market Fx400 and Fx550 model which is also the same.

The lower crankcases on the later water cooled gpz600 is the same and I think these pipes can be fitted too.

With mods to the rear hanger plate, any four cylinder kawi 400/500/550 exhaust can be fitted, even later zx unitrack, ZR550 and GT550 shaft Ltd etc....
