I just found a manual online. I will clean the points and check the advancer.

I don't know about the KZ750 twins, but on the KZ650 there is a mark on the points cam that should align with a hole in the backplate (see image below). If the mark on the points cam faces away from the hole the ignition timing will be 180 degrees out. The KZ750 may have a similar set of marks. Ed

Yeah, if someone was monkeying with it, it's possible he could have got that cam backwards. Spread the weights and turn the cam 180* and put back in. That is if it doesn't line up with the notch in back.

Do they make them for the twins?
Steve
No Dyna S for 750 twins I ever heard of but I think you can adapt the Kawi electronic ignitions from the smaller twins (either 400 or 440?)

My 750 twin FSM says there is a slot in the advancer plate that aligns with a pin on the shaft..... so it can't go on wrong. The problem is, mine doesn't have that. I'm not sure why the manual says it. I think it should spark on every TDC stroke (both cylinders) which means the points should open at TDC.

Dirty points or bad condensers. I used early F 250 condensers about $5 at OR or AZ, wired them up stream and they worked. No bike shop close by. Got a new kit later.
