Clutch release trouble was created by freakinbike
Hey friends, I have a 1982 GPz750 and my clutch release keeps popping out of place, not allowing the clutch to disengage. This is a GPz750, so the clutch release is different from the other KZ's.

I've rebuild the Sproket Cover several times following the manual verbatim, adjusting the clutch, everything I can think of, but it keeps popping out.

Anyone else had this happen?

1982 GPZ750, stock (for now..)
1973 VW Bus
Can life really get much better?

The diagrams at Partzilla show that the 82 & 83 GPZs are different from each other.
Is yours the same type as the 83? I'm asking because the diagrams indicate that the 82 is about the same as most KZs, having the clutch adjusting screw under a trapezoidal cover at the engine-sprocket cover.

1982 Gpz is the same as all KZ650/750's with the cable on the left side of rhe motor.
1983 GPz750 has the cable on the right side of the motor.and is a pull type clutch.

By rebuild did you just take it apart and clean and lube
or did you replace part's ?

Did you adjust it the correct direction? I tried following my manual for adjustment and I actually turned it the opposite way, caused it to pop out each time
