hard shift gear

happy new year any one
my prroblem is: ı have kz1000j 1981year.
at low rpm it shifts nice; but about 6-7 8000 rpm it is hard to shift,
does any one why it shifts so hard at high rpm?

I think Steve meant "Sitting" Not shifting, in other words he asks if the bike has just been sitting and not been ridden in a while. Hope that makes sense. :huh:

What I was getting at, the clutch plates might not be separating. The clutch cam adjustment at the cover may be wrong . Check the simple things first.
