Engine rebuild
18 Dec 2014 16:19 - 18 Dec 2014 16:26
Ok guys i posted asking if I can rebuild my engine in the frame and everyone says yes. Question is is there a benefit for doing so? Will I save any more time? Would it just be easier for me to pull it where I can get at it?
Just the top end and head gaskets

If all you intend to do is the top end, then there is nothing to be gained by pulling the engine out of the frame.
Pull the engine only if you need to split the crankcase open for some reason. (a very stupid reason in my case)
One step at a time...

Split the cases when you want to do a serious build.

That was a selling point in the day. The Honda's you had to pull the motor to fix a valve cover gasket.
