Kz 1000 rebuild was created by keenan-n-cali
I'm trying to rebuild an engine that sat outside for 7 years, the rings were frozen to the bores, but the cylinders look good now that I got them moving. So my question is do I replace the rings or bore it out with new pistons. Also should I replace the timing chain????? And where can I get the rings and new chain rollers???? This is my first time building a motorcycle engine, any advice would be helpful, THANKS

Are the bores stained where the rings sat? You might be looking at a overbore. Any pics? If the cylinder walls aren't pitted you might get away with cross hatch hone and new rings. Z1 enterprises is a good source for parts. There are others. eBay is also a good place but be careful. SHARKS.
Post some pics so others can give advice as well.

Looks like VM 26's. Does it have a cap on the bottom? Could be 29's.
