when installing a cb900 starter on the kz1000, can the housing of the starter be rotated to relocate the battery post or do you only have the option to alter the clutch cover for fitment?

Yes, you can rotate the outer housing of the starter. Here's some info from MFolks on the subject. Ed

thanks guys. I read that thread and sounds good. I bought the cb900 starter for $17.99 plus shipping. bench tested and it sounds and ran great. I have a 1327 with 10.5 to 1 motor that im building. its just been a slow process.
