Modern street cam for Z1R? was created by Tripleted
I have a low mileage original Z1R and want to use the stock carbs and exhaust with a modern cam for the street. The original cam looks like new and it has 13,000 original kms. I guess good all around power that uses the stock springs. What brand and which one?[46075-100146075-1001attachment=79702]ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414785906.079719.jpg[/attachment]

Web 118 will work. There has been a problem getting cores for a while now... But that should be and off the shelf grind. Essentially you want .365" lift so you don't have do anything but bolt them in and adjust the valves. Degreeing is optional with a little cam like that.

I will warn you right now thought that you still need to check things like lobe contact in the tappet bores. Do not trust any advertisements that say drop in. Always look because I've seen them hit metal where they are not supposed to.

To Larry's point - always check clearance - even if a cam came out of an engine without touching metal, it doesn't mean the same it true with the next head. The casting and machining on Z1/KZ900/KZ1000 heads has some variance. The +/- on the cam line boring can have the cam sitting slightly high or low in relation to the buckets. Obviously high wouldn't hurt you, but low might.
