KZ900 Cam timing: GPZ1100 camshaft swap

Hi all,

I'm in the process of swapping the stock cams on my 76 kz900 with 83-84 gpz1100 cams.
What I'm wondering is if I should get ADJUSTABLE sprockets from APE (ACS900K) or FIXED sprockets (ACS900K-2B) for the job?
I'm not quite sure how GPZ1100s are timed, but I see that some of you successfully installed the gpz cams so...Your advice is greatly appreciated.

BTW, I'm swapping cams because my intake cam got damaged while I was tuning my bike a couple days ago. The shim on #1 intake slipped out of the bucket and shot through valve cover. Now, I've never seen that happened :S I'm pretty bummed as it was a fresh built motor with 500 miles on it, but I'll take it as an opportunity for upgrades(i.e. porting, high lift cams, gas tank paint finally, etc...) :)

You need the ACS900K-2B converter sprockets as these fit the 2 bolt GPZ camshaft ( The 2B denotes 2 bolt holes )
The ACS900K will not fit the GPZ cam as these are 3 bolt fitment.
BOTH types are adjustable.
Using the 83 GPZ unitrack cam it is recommended that you convert to under the bucket shim arrangement to avoid a repeat of the shim spitting incident.

Perfect, That's exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.
