Tach seal leak won't stop

I put in a new tach drive seal and it seems to leak even more. Is there a fix for this?
This is in regards to a 1976 KZ900

Both the shaft seal and o'ring(s) serve to prevent oil from escaping through or around the tach drive.
The tach shaft seal prevents oil from escaping around the shaft.
The o'ring around the tach drive case prevents oil from escaping past the case.
Am thinking that some models may have 2 o'rings around the tach drive case.
Even without the tach cable installed, there should be no leakage whatsoever from the tach drive. For example, after a cross-country ride without a tach cable, the exposed end of the tach drive shaft should be perfectly dry and oil-free.
Without the tach cable attached, should be able to see the end of the tach drive shaft, and watch it spinning when the engine is running.
Using an oil-tight connection between the cable and a leaking drive simply allows the escaping oil to accumulate inside the cable. And is a band-aid effort in lieu of a correct repair.
Hopefully, there 's no damage to the engine where the tach drive fits.
But sometimes JBWeld might serve as a feasible repair.
