'82 KZ305 Belt drive - jerky in low gears was created by jaymac621
Just bought it off 2nd owner, low miles. Guy seemed to take good care of it. I've put about 75 miles on it, all city riding at 25-45 mph and am starting to feel some jerkiness in low gears 1st - 3rd, with the throttle on and off. Can't tell if it is engine braking or power loss. Once I get her into 4th, she's smooth. Also wants the choke on for a while, and even after running a good 20 minutes out on the road, idle is really low and will die with choke off, but okay at 1/4 up. Any thoughts on the jerkiness?

Possibly dirt or rust clogging the low speed circuits in one or more carbs.
