Exhaust for KZ was created by darrinos
When I was a kid, I remember hearing the KZ900's around town racing this way and that, and they sounded so amazing. Most had headers of some type, and though I never knew what kind they were, all I knew was that the pipes were black and loud. Now that I'm older and have a 1982 1000csr, I'd like to have that sound on my bike, but not unbearably loud when tooling around town. What do you suggest for that classic old sound, but not to be obnoxious like those Harley's....

Thanks!

4-1 by MAC, VanceHines or Kerker. Cost MAC around $290, VH $350 and Kerker $700. I went with MAC and will have it on in the next weeks. Chrome or black and canister or megaphone tail piece. They all sound bitchen.

There were many choices back in the day, but I'd bet the most common one was the Kerker.

1982 KZ1000 LTD parts donor
1981 KZ1000 LTD awaiting resurrection
2000 ZRX1100 not ridden enough

Agreed. Nowadays they are too rich for my blood. Rather spend it on the motor.

I also looked there. I have yet to find someone who has actually put this on. Their website doesn't show an exhaust for the KZ that I could find.
