How much is it using? Do you visually see smoke from the pipes when you rev it? Have you done a compression test, or better a Leak Down Test? Whats the plugs look like? All the same, or 1 or 2 that look worse then others?
What oil are you using?

Oil use on my 750 has always been pretty low. In between the 3000 mile change interval, I think it was less than a quart total. In cars, I have seen some as bad as a quart every 500 miles. Depends on the engine and if the rings seated well.
My wife's new Saturn was eating a quart every 250 miles because they had defective valve seals but they did a recall and fixed it then it went down to maybe a quart every thousand miles.

My KZP is having a total top end rebuild. Was eating oil and belching smoke along with fouled plugs and power issues. It had 48k on it and shows signs of abuse. Those coppers...

Not sure about the 1000P, but the some of the GPz11's are oil guzzlers, two stroke style.
Kawasaki had the idea to bore the jugs before pressing them into the block, as opposed to the conventional way. Unfortunately the jugs got slightly distorted and kawi had some warranty claims back in the day.
My lightly tuned GPz1100 B motor was arm wrenching powerful, just used to use a lot of oil. I'm going to 1170 on this rebuild.

It won't cause the oil consumption to be high, but if you are using Castrol GTX it will ruin your clutch. If you are using Castrol Actevo MOTORCYCLE oil your clutch will be ok.
Which oil are you using? Ed

That should work fine as it is JASO-MA compliant. Ed
