Tachometer Gear was created by JNM57
My son has a 1980 KZ750 E, and had a oil leak where the tachometer cable goes into the head. He put on new O rings, and now cannot get the splines in the tachometer gear to line up in the head.

Make sure hole is clean, apply small bit o grease, start it in and rock back and forth to mesh on the way in. O ring might be preventing it to go in at first. Check for burr somewhere, Obvious stuff first.
