Idle Question

Hey everyone
Now that I am able to ride my 81 KZ550 around for longer periods of time I am noticing the idle will increase the longer it stays running. I replaced the carb holders a few weeks ago and have verified there are no more vacuum leaks. The bike is fine for the first 15-20 minutes of running. After that the idle will gradually increase to the point where pulling in the clutch lever at lower rpms will noticeably increase the sound of the engine. Any ideas on what I should be checking?

This is normal for the older bikes. Just tweak the idle adjustment screw, as needed. This happens on my 650... once up to operating temp, I'll usually turn it down a bit and keep going...

As far as the clutch, no input... sorry.

Sounds like your clutch is dragging a little....there should be no increase in rpms when you pull in the lever.....check on the clutch cable adjustment. :)
