Oil sending unit 1976 900 (Ltd)

Hi! I'm new here and an ancient 900 Kaw dragracer.
My friend has the above mentioned bike. How do you know if the oil sending unit is bad?

Is the oil light coming on?
You could screw an oil pressure gauge on the motor to check,they only run about 3-5 psi of oil pressure most of the time,so don't be surprised if the gauge shows low numbers.

Still recovering,some days are better than others.
