Won't Start when already warmed up

1979 KZ 650 I only have the kickstart working one this bike, This year it will start fine cold at first when going to ride, But after running it or drive for a bit the bike doesn't want to start again until it has cooled off??????????

While the bike is cold try heating up the coils with a hair dryer. If the bike won't start with warm coils and a cold engine they probably are at fault. Ed

Would check valve clearances to assure being within specs, as too tight valves may result in the reported symptoms.
