Sorry but as far as I know, there are no aftermarket piston rings for any kz750 or gpz750. I have been looking for years now with no luck. Kz650 has better aftermarket piston rings availability.

$40 is what they cost. Your Harley cant turn 10,000rpm so the comparison is kind of like parts for a 350 Chevy vs. a Porsche...

In general rings in high output air cooled engines take a beating, and I would not want to cheap out on something like that when putting all the work into a rebuild. YMMV
If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

The last incarnation of the 2 valve 750 engine was in the ZR-7 which they stopped making in 2003. Considering the 750 is almost identical to the 650, that engine was used in one form or another from 1976 to 2003. Kawasaki may still actually be making some parts for that engine currently.

But you don't have to rebuild every 50,000 either.

40$ a set doesn't seem like that high a price. If they where any cheaper I'd be scared  to use them, probably be some inferior Chinese steel and manufacturing processing
Most of the major ring manufacturers will make whatever you need...But they ain't gonna be 40$ a set

Man up... $40.00 a set is only $10 a hole! Spend the money while you're in there and don't regret it later
