online parts fiche
29 Jul 2014 17:50 - 29 Jul 2014 17:52
Thought this was as good as any place to post this. I need to look up some part numbers and it seems all the usual online parts warehouse fiches only go back to 84. Does anybody here have a recommended link. Any help here would be appreciated.
Also why do the ads on the right side of the page move to the left when I scroll down trying to read the forums?
Thanks,
Russ

If you need Kawasaki parts just go to Kawasaki.com. It takes some work to get to the right spot but they have fiches back into the early 70's at least.

Go to Kawasaki.com. On left side put cursor over "Owner Information" then on drop down menu click on "Parts Diagrams." The click "Continue" next to "Motorcycles" and click on model/year/etc. on drop down. Once you get the list of parts for your bike you can click on the category of parts - such as "Air Cleaner" and you will see a diagram of all the parts for that category. Then when you click on an actual part number on the list under the diagram it will say if the Item Status is "Active." If it is "Active" Kawasaki still sells the part through dealers. Also, at that little page you can click on the yellow highlighted question mark for a cross reference of which bikes share that part or click on the red highlighted S to see earlier part numbers for the same part.
If you want to change bike models you can enter the new model at the top. Also, you can put in just the first part of the model (i.e. KZ650) and it will list all the years and sub models. You also can put in a part number up top and switch the word "MODEL" to "PART NUMBER" using the little drop down in that box. If you do that it will show all the models that part is used on. Ed

Lots of good info on kawasaki.com, including parts diagrams, part names, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc. Here's a link for help with navigating the site and finding information.

Bikebandit.com also gets you back into the 70s, but kawasakis site is a bit more useful, as it give a cross reference for other models
Mine:
04 Honda rebel 250(wifes)
04 GSXR 750(bolt on galore)
98 CBR 600F3(filter, pipe, adjustable cam sprokets, dyno tune)
76 KZ900A (LTD gauge pods, crash bars, LTD(style)pipes, dyna coils and ignition, headwork and mild port cleanup by cavanaugh racing, K&N filter pods, heck I dunno.

www.partzilla.com
is another after-market supplier that supplies diagrams and shared parts info, and there are probably others also.
Would suspect that kawasaki.com is a common basis used by the after-marketers.
www.z1enterprises.com also furnishes a wealth of information about the various Kawasaki models, including the respective ranges of engine numbers and vins for each model.
