Yeah, I'm going to just order a set from eBay I think. Nobody look at that link, they're mine!

put a swipe of grease on each of the copper gaskets and stuff em in the head and they will stay while you mess with the angle of the dangle as the pipe ports all line up and slip into the head...put a thin rubber band around the split collars nice and tight to hold them on the pipe during this process too...it will burn and fal of later...this will free your hands to line up the holes on the four holders...ebay cheap and soak em gas with a tooth brush

Looked at that link, and saw the picture.. I'd turn on my wire wheel and make a afternoon of it.... ;) I'd also paint the split collars with Hi-Temp paint...Chose your color...

Fortunately for me, the pipes actually came with shiny new split keepers so I wouldn't even need those nasty rusty ones! All I need are the collars and they look to be in pretty fair condition, nothing a little elbow grease couldn't cure!

That's cool that they at least came with the split keepers- I just bought a set from Kawasaki for my 1000 & it cost about $50.00

Yeah I was looking at Z1 the other day, they have just the collars for $11 each and was very disappointed in the amount I was going to have to spend before being pointed to the ones on eBay

I have the same bike & exhaust...I re-used both my split keepers & collars... Split keepers that came with V&H header were about 1/4 inch too long...bolts wouldn't reach all the way through.

Wow, you were exactly right! I just got my collars in that I ordered and thankfully they also came with some stock split keepers because the set that came with the header were about a quarter of an inch too long. Good call, and thank you for the heads up! You definitely just saved me some time.
