OEM gaskets are superior to most others. Aftermarket is a crap shoot or outright junk in some cases. Athena green gaskets for example - pure garbage.

You can often find good deals on OEM gaskets from ebay. Worth a look anyway.

Not to further confuse the issue, although OEM gaskets might be preferable to aftermarket in some cases, some eBay sellers will be offering OEM gaskets that have been sitting on the shelves for 25 years (= 25 year-old paper). At least aftermarket gaskets may not be as old as OEM. Again, one really doesn't know what one is purchasing over the internet, at times. I have had luck purchasing gasket sets from Z1Enterprises.

The aftermarket gaskets I've seen at Z1Enterprises.com are made by Vesrah which is a Japanese company, so the quality is probably good. Z1Ent doesn't seem to use the Vesrah part numbers for ordering, but they do have the Vesrah part number in the description. The Z1Ent part numbers for Vesrah stuff begin w MA.
