Throttle cable routing - can't figure it out.

Does anyone have a diagram or photo of their throttle cable routing? It seems that no matter how I route my cable, my engine revs high on a hard left or right turn. It never happens in both directions, but always one of them depending on my routing.

I've attached a rough sketch of my cable routing now and the engine revs high with a hard left. I would think a left would increase slack in cable in this current routing, but it does the opposite.

I have superbike bars currently with what I believe is the original length cable at 42" end to end with 4" slack If I can't get the routing right, I'll have the change bars again.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Your cable adjustment is to tight. If you have the BS34 carbs loosen the cable adjustment to allow the movement of the bars. If you have the VM series carbs make sure your return cable is also not to tight.

You might want to try running them like my KZ650. From the throttle grip they run down the handlebars through the little bracket, then in front of the upper triple tree, then down along the RIGHT HAND side of the frame under the fuel tank, then through the frame to the carbs. Pictures below may be helpful. Ed
