Performance mods KZ750G? was created by oldryder
presently resurrecting a 1980 750 twin. was wondering if performance parts like camshafts, stroker crank, or bore kits are still available and if yes, where.

thx in advance for help or suggestions.

ps. I know it'll never be a crotch rocket but I just like making it better.

There is a reason for that. The twins had a completely different goal from a 4 cylinder. If you want performance, get a 4 cylinder. If you want nice comfortable cruising, stick with the twin.

Shell Thuet would have disagreed with this statement.

OK so it isn't a "common" motor for hot rodding, BUT, everything can be done. Check with megacycle for cam shafts. (475-20 and 475-40) Edco, in Petaluma can build a fantastic head and J&E make custom pistons for any application to YOUR specs in quantities of four or more. Carillo rods also do custom work. Good luck with your build. Paul

True, Anything's possible with a big enough hammer and a fat enough checkbook.

Very true. Custom pistons, eh? I wonder what they would cost, since he will be making 4 pistons for a twin motorcycle.

I recently had them make 4 pistons for a SR500 (ish  ) motor. 1 in the motor and 3 on the shelf. About $120 per.
