Hi again everyone

Looking for a little more advise, I'm having trouble achieving in tolerance installed valve heights. I have managed to obtain new both inlet and exhaust valve both both heights are still slightly out of tolerance which now points to worn or recut valve seats.
Has anyone any experience of replacing the seats or slightly shortening the valve stem.

Any experiences greatly appreciated

The Factory Service Manual will have the correct valve installed height. It also has the spec for how much to Tip the valve stem, minimum distance from the keeper to the Tip etc. If you need a link to a service manual, look to member Loudhvx. Do a search with his user name, look at any post he has made, and look at his signature at the bottom of his post for his links for the 550 info.

Id buy another head off of flea bay to rebuild before Id spend money on new seats for a head,unless there was something really special about it.
Id definitely check on having valves tipped if the seats in the head aren't too beat up to have ground to match the valves. :)

Still recovering,some days are better than others.
