I have finally gotten around top posting a video of the sound the bike is making. Is this a cam chain rattle or a primary chain rattle? In person, it's louder towards the bottom, it really almost sounds like it's coming from the transmission. Yes, it has full oil, is idling around 1200-1300 rpm. The sound gets louder the hotter the motor gets. This is when i just got back from a ride and the motor was still hot. The carbs are in sync using vacuum sync gauges. They are also spotless. The pipes are debaffled, and no changes have been made to the jets cuz they don't make jets for the Keihin CV34. (the CV34 with just the single main jet). Also, the color of the pipes was like that when i got the bike. Any thoughts?

sounds like the dampers are shot in the clutch basket. easy to check, you take the clutch apart and watch how much play their is between the gear and the basket. they can be repaired, but it easy enough to find good parts too. Do search on the forum, there are a few threads dealing with that issue.

never hurts to double check your cam chain, I would highly recommend a manual tensioner from APE.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

I have been thinking about trying a manual tensioner. I was actually gonna use the stock tensioner and make it manual by tapping some threads in the end and adding a bolt and stop but. Is there anything special I need to do to remove or install a tensioner? do I just unbolt and reinstall and that's it? Or is there more involved so I don't screw up the timing?

Refer to your manual and the instructions that come with the tensioner. I can't remember exactly but I believe you need to rotate the engine into the proper position before servicing the timing chain tensioner. Manual tensioner needs only be finger tight, then back off 1/4 turn.
