Throttle up issues was created by BIKEMECHANIC73
the issue I'm having is when accelerating through all the gears it throttles up, but then it seems to not pull as i increase the throttle in all the gears (same as if i would be sitting in neutral & throttling up) and doesn't seem to pull or speed up. What should I check first? My first thought was to change the oil & filter.... I have no idea what the guy before me had put in it.. Thanks!

The ignition advancer might be stuck in idle position.

Is the clutch badly slipping?

Good Fortune! :)

It sounds to me like your clutch is slipping. Use the instructions in the Kawasaki Service Manual to adjust it. Also, what oil is in the bike. If it is not JASO-MA compliant it could be making the clutch slip. If you change the oil filter and the oil using oil that is marked JASO-MA and adjust the clutch you may be ok without needing to pull things apart. Ed

Hey Patton
No its not too bad. It starts accelerating just fine then stops pulling as much even if i crank it a bit.

Hey Ed,
That was actually my first instinct. The guy I bought it from seemed a few bricks short of a wall, so I have no idea what he put in & how long he ran it like that. I'm going to change the oil & filter this weekend & adjust accordingly.
Thanks again!
