Can I put a 1979 kz750 b motor on a 1983 kz750 b belt bike need a new motor and someone I know has the 79 so hope it works

Also how hard I'd it changing from belt to chain

Yes, may have to change the trans output shaft, I don't remember for sure.

There are several online parts diagrams for Kawasaki on the web, so just compare part numbers.

Belt to chain conversion? Yes, although I don't know what's involved, anything is possible with enough determination
