No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI am preparing to do the top end on my 1300 project. I need to make decision on pistons. This set on E-bay looks almost to good to be true. Anyone know anything about these? Are they the same as the factory oversize?
I am concerned about balance and vibration putting larger pistons in a 6 cylinder.

Didn't I read somewhere that the 1300 used the same pistons as the 1000?

The 650 and 1300 have the same bore, but the pistons are different.
Thanks for the link peter1958,
I am a bit concerned el-cheapo head gasket that comes with them. They seemed concerned about the liner thickness below the cylinder block, to me its a non issue.
It going to be a good effort to rebuild this engine, I would like to trust the parts I'm using. I know there were a couple of outfits in Europe making custom pistons. Curious about these 1370 kits, cheap could be a good deal cheap, or bad deal cheap...

If you're in the US, there are at least two piston manufacturers that will build you custom pistons, JE being the one that springs to mind, and I think CP does also.
The telephone is a wondrous device, and the techs at those companies would just love to talk to you.
Check www.nwvintagecycleparts.com/ I saved over $500 on OEM parts for my ZX12 buying from them. It's a little PITA because you have to search by part number, but well worth it.

Ok moving forward I did call JE and talk to their MC guy. They can do pistons in 62, 62.5 and 63mm with various ring options. Very cool the options you have with them, valve relief, ring location, skirt design, etc. The cost is what I expected...$1200. 200 a piece for custom made pistons is, well not too far out of line in the performance world.
Considering a set of stock rings can run about 350 to $400 by themselves the "cheap" bigbore kit is really tempting. Looking into the curisinimage piston sets on eBay, I found several discussions on the Honda sohc 4 and kawi triple forums. The 2 stoke guys don't seem to like them much, but everywhere else it seems they are ok. I couldn't find one post of a broken piston or blown up motor with those cast pistons.
I can get the piston set, an extra set of rings, and an extra head gasket for roughly the same cost as a set of OE piston rings...
