Both of mine are 17mm but then I've got a 78 Kz 650 B (same on my 79 parts bike although too) so not sure what to tell ya.
Just looked on Z-1 and your year and model comes with the same drain screw ....... You should probaly pick up one either there or at a dealer ...... you want the gasket to seal right and have no problems with the threads and length too.
