Exhaust mounting location
20 May 2014 13:55 - 20 May 2014 13:58
This is a 2-2 exhaust off of a 1978 kz400B that I am putting on a 78 kz400 C I am putting back together. Where it is now, I have the muffler tabs mounted to the inside of the passenger foot peg frame mounts. The swingarm/rear axle hardware is actually touching the mufflers, which already have indentations at these locations. IS the mounting theoretically correct? I know with weight on the bike it will actually create more clearance, but It looks like the axle hardware will still hit the mufflers during normal riding over our typical Oklahoma roads. Could it be that the shocks are longer than stock thus pushing the swingarm down onto the mufflers? Is this normal?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Can you move them to the outside of the footpeg bracket to gain some clearance?

Still recovering, some days are better than others.
