Boring to...1075 or higher?

Its the same price, so could I bore bigger than 1075 without resleeving? I know this must be asked a billion times. I know that the sleeve can crack. Also if I go 1075 do I have to change the valve clearances or new valves/porting? I have the 29 Pumpers.

Do you plan to use the bike on the street or strictly drag racing at the track? I ask because if you plan to use it on the street and if you go with really large displacement (greater than 1075) you will need to consider heat management. Ed

There are two schools of thought boring stock 1015 cylinder to 1105 or 1197. 1105 has been done many times
Hell, I heard people say you can go to 1197 on stock cylinder......... :ohmy:
Some say its ok to go to 1105, others claim cylinder sleeve will become to thin.
I wouldn't go 1105 on my stock 1015 cylinder.
I think 1197 would be a BOMB waiting to go off.
There is no problem going to 1075 on a stock 1015 cylinder

1197 means resleeving the block and boring the top case. More money. No problem with heat using 1015 block with new sleeves. The only thing "bomb" about it is how an 1197 "Bombs" at 1075 in all areas of power 
1075 is a straight bore job. Less money out of pocket.
If all you're intending to do is just make it bigger, no head work, no larger carbs, no real performance cams, then the 1075 kit is your ticket.

1075 is the (Practical ) limit.

I believe 4TheKZ1000 is right on target. An 1197 would be a BOMB waiting to go off if you try to use the stock sleeves. And you may not need to wait very long for it to go off. Ed

All of my street turbo bike were 1075.
7-10lbs on the street, 30lbs of boost at the track, no problem.

I don't think that was bad advice, and I even think you would agree that trying to bore stock sleeves to 1197 would be an exercise in futility. I cannot speak for 4TheKZ1000, but I was under the impression he was making the same point. If you take a look at the comments I believe you will see that neither of us thought trying to go to 1197 with stock sleeves would work. For sure I was NOT giving any advice to try to do so, and I don't understand how you could misinterpret my comments to think I was giving such lame advice.

A guy get's heartburn. He buys some TUMS. He's cured. Next thing you know he's on a medial forum diagnosing heart diseases........ All seems fine until a doctor happens by and speaks up....That's as close of an analogy as I can attribute to what I see here around here.
