kick start seems stuck. was created by seimser
I have a Kawasaki 750 twin Ltd. And a wierd problem.. When i take apart the left side of the engine and off whit the magnet and starter clutch, the kick goes easy as it should. However when i put it together and the more i tighten the big bolt for the magnet going in too the shaft. The harder it gets to kick it over. What would be the problem i wonder ?

The magnet is your flywheel/rotor and it sounds like it has been tightened up too much sometime before, or not tight enough and wallered out so the interference fit is too sloppy now, tightening it up locks the flywheel/rotor/starter clutch against the engine case and keeps the crank from spinning, time for some new parts

Done. Bolt should set to 12-14 kg / m. But is it the rotor that needs changing ? Or pherhaps rotor and starter clutch ?

The rotor/flywheel magnet has a tapered fit to it, if the hole is worn out, that piece definately needs replacing, you need to watch the torque specs and use loctite where needed
