Hey Guys-Has anybody ever tried to split open the stock seamed exaust, I found some no rust originals but one side has a couple of nasty dents. It looks like they are welded on the edge of the seams-I know I can weld them back together(tig)-but I don't know how much I have to grind off to separate the two halfs, I intend to body work out the dents -put them back together and have them re-chromed. Anybody done this sort of thing-Thanks

Keep in mind that there are partition walls inside the muffler that may be spot welded to the shell. I can't say exactly how the KZ750 twin mufflers are constructed, but to give you an idea here is a cutaway of a KZ650 muffler. If you have the KZ750 twin Kawasaki Service Manual it may have a similar cutaway drawing for its mufflers. Ed
