electronic ignition for 78 twin was created by XioJammeRoiX
Does anyone know if there is one that will work on a 78 kz750 twin and do they adjust the timing on their own?

I think the 440 twins had some years with electronic ignitions that can be adapted.

I think bountyhunter is correct: probably the 1981-on 440s.
Also, the 82-83 750-Twins had the same electronic ignition (but different advancer).
The 440s & 750s mentioned have the same pulsing coil, igniter, & ignition coil.
I don't think there are any adjustments on the Kawasaki electronic ignition. Just install it & go.
You'll need the pulsing coil, timing advancer, igniter, & ignition coil. I would get a new Dyna ign coil & I think you'd need the advancer from the 750.

You can also adapt half of a Dyna S from a 4-cylinder KZ. You will need a Dyna S and a Dyna S rotor magnet to fit onto the points advancer.
.For all of the above, you adjust the static timing by adjusting the timing plate, but the advance timing is controlled by the timing advancer mechanism.
