I drove out my guides and the driver was soft metal and flared. The bores look ok but what size over size guide should I go with? II was thinking .004? I There is a visable slight grooving down a few of the guides from the driver but nothing like when I once drove a guide out backwards! That one I had to put a large oversize guide in. .lasted for two years then popped out. I also bought a 7mm reamer from Granger and it fits pretty tight into the ape guides in my other head. which are very new and tight. I m afraid to run it through either those or the steel ones that were in my 1000 head for fear it might ream them out to much. I'm going to run it through a used steel guide I removed from the 1000 head and see I guess.
