Is this a problem? was created by Schmeck
I finally got the sprocket cover off my 79 kz750 and found this on both sides. It is rough like sand paper . It doesn't appear to be causing any leaks but Is it safe to use the cover?

casting flash is not unusual to find on these old cast aluminum covers.
you will be just fine re-using it.

Okay kool. As for the seals for this cover, I have the part numbers but they do not come up when cross referenced at auto parts shops. Do you have to order them or is there an under the radar part number for the seals ?

Those seals will be metric. Does your database cover metric seals?

Database? If your talking about the parts store database then I don't know. I suppose I could just take down the measurements and go that way

Ah, okay - well, Z1E do list the dimensions, maybe taking those numbers to a parts shop that cater for metric cars would help.

Yeah I called around and it's an online order only thing unless I want it shipped from another dealer ( not free shipping ) . So I'll have to order them online and WAIT
