Forgot to add...if your cams look like the ones in the pic..... scotch brite is your friend....a few minutes and they'll look like new again. And if anyone else is looking for a set of those cams....I have 1 set.

Hi Larry
The Kawasaki GPZ 1100 Zx 83,84,85 model cam lobe specs are
CAM LOBE HEIGHT – 37.75 – 37.85mm - service limit 37.65mm ( base circle dia – 27mm )
(( After 30 years my friend has those cams measuring wear at 37.20mm ))
ZX1100-A1/A2/A3 GPZ, 1983/84/85 - 120 hp:
Intake (12044-1057)
Open: 40 BTDC
Close 80 ABDC
Duration: 300 - Lift: 9,6 mm (.375")
Exhaust (12044-1057)
Open: 80 BBDC
Close 40 ATDC
Duration: 300 - Lift: 9,6 mm (.375")
I want to use these cams in a Z1000MKII motor ( cam sprockets required )
The head to be used is a Z1000H (runs GPZ1100 size valves stock)
I am more interested in mid range power / torque, not top end power
It been suggested that some of the earlier model GPZ cams not having so much lift will not give the top end but will give better mid range power
Cam / model /specs preferred, what would you suggest ?
The engine is going in my 1980 Moriwaki Kawasaki Monster ( factory race bike )
