I have seen different opions on the use of sealants on head gaskets and wanted to get your opion. On cars I have always left them driy. But on a bike would you use a sealant on them if so what would you use? This is my first time doing a bike and suggestions would be appreciated also. I have the factory and the clymer manuals and have read through the procedure. But would like any tips that you may have. She has 17k miles on her as you can see in the pic the left front is wet with oil. I have got the 18.5mm orings also. Boy they are proud of those orings.
Thanks in advance.

Head gaskets go on DRY unless the bike is NOT stock.

BUT !!!!!!!
I have a hard time believing that either your head gasket or an O ring is causing that.

Try some foot powder or some dye in your oil first .

That was before I cleaned it off. I retorqued the head and found the ones in the sequence 7,10,11, and 12 were all at 8ft/lbs. I torqued them to 30ft/lbs and I can see the oil bubbling out the gasket. Here is a close up shot of the head and cylinder. This was after riding the bike 10 minutes.
