The magnet toward the rear (second pic) looks like it has separated from the housing. Is that just an illusion, or has the bond broken at the middle of the magnet? When magnet pieces appear to be missing, they actually aren't. They are likely to be in the bottom of your oil pan. :(

It's still attached.

My question is , cAn I run it as is ?

I've looked into replacing it but they go around 3-400 new.

Some scratching and gouging shouldn't be a problem, but if the magnet is cracked or separating from the housing, even partially, you should replace it. As for the cost, have you checked ebay?
