Kickstarters

Howdy,
Got a 82 KZ550. I'm turning it into a flat tracker and I am wanting to add a kickstart to it so I can remove all of the electrical items on the bike. I have access to a machine shop and a guy who knows how to run it. Anybody ever put a kickstarter on this bike? Anything I need to look for?

Zack

I can't think of any way of installing a kick starter on a 550. I'm sure it could be done, given enough time and money.

I'm sure it could be done. It'd probably be cheaper to start with a bike that already has a kickstarter though :P

My flattracker uses a "plug-in" starter. in the pic below, you can just see the bolt head behind the side cover. I have a portable Toyota starter motor, modified with a socket that fits the bolt, on a hand truck with a car battery and some welding cable leads.
