79 KZ1000 LTD Kerker?

I got my 79 kawasaki kz1000 ltd and it's got the original all stock exhaust system, but I like something a little louder. Kerker sounds like a good exhaust system, sounds nice. Just wondering if anyone out there has this exhaust on their bike, and could tell me how they like it. Also if I were to buy that exhaust system, could I just take the old one out and put the kerker in? Or do I have to modify anything else on the bike in order to put the kerker in.
Thanks

I ran a Kerker on my 77 with a stock baffle. I took some of the baffle wadding out about 50% of it and it was very loud with good engine braking and deceleration performance. I had a center stand and it cleared it no problem.if you want that thing super loud you can take all the wadding out or even take the baffle out altogether.as for modifying anything to help the exhaust perform a simple rejetting should be all you need good luck and I'd love to see some pictures of your bike

That's not a 79, it's a 78.
I bought a brand new black on in 79. My buddy bought the green one like the other guy has. Another friend had the 77 and one more had the blue 80. 16 cylinders of kawasaki sounded real nice out riding together. I agree.....It's cherry...keep it just as it is

The baritone sound of a Kaw with a Kerker is unmistakable. I run my pipe wide open with no baffle.
I used to travel every year to the Indy 500. Interstate 74 from Cincinnati, Ohio to Indy is a two lane road both ways. Bikers going to the race riding KZ's used to go by us in packs of 5 or more wide open with headers. I remember at 5 years old how freggin cool it sounded and the feel of speed as they went by.
I had no problem hot roddin my bike as it was a mutt, made up of several bikes parts and not a stock bike or original. If I had a stock bike, I would not convert it or start taking off parts or modifying it. Just my thoughts, and really none of my business what a owner eventually does to it.

You have a real looker yourself! I notice you got the dunlop elite ii tires on both front and back. I got the elite on the back but a metzeler on the front. Don't know maybe I should put the same dunlop on the front? And idk guys it just sounds too quiet, I like the throaty sound like some of the guys got on you tube. I just want that thing to be louddkoz wrote: Wow she's a beauty. Me personally I wouldn't change a thing.
