Hi, I have been scouring these forums for some time, but can't seem to find the solution to my problem.

My bike will idle just fine, but after I shift into first and start to let go of the clutch, it will die. If I pull the clutch back in, the engine will slowly die until it quits, and if I let go of the clutch and give it a little gas like normal it lurches a half foot and dies.

The truly odd part of this is that it ran perfectly fine 4 days ago, and in fact I took it for a ride, turned it off in my drive way, and first experienced the problem when I tried to take it back into the garage(after a normal ride). I am almost certain it has to do with the transmission, but I don't think it is a seized clutch because it started AFTER a ride.

Sorry for writing so much, and thanks for reading. I hope someone can help!

Put your model in your signature so we know what bike we are talking about. There are several Kz550 models in 1982. Kz550A3, Kz550C3, Kz550H1.

It may be your kickstand switch, if you have one.

It is the Kz550 ltd(forgive my ignorance on the models, I think its a C3?)

I will check for a kickstand switch, but I have never noticed it on there before if it was there.

UPDATE: No kickstand switch was to be found. Any other ideas? Thanks!
