1976 KZ 750 B - tachometer cable

Just ordered a tachometer cable as a replacement for my old one. The replacement part is mentioned as compatible with KZ 750 B (part 54018-24) but is too big to fit inside the engine side (tachometer side is OK).

I have searched on the web but they all seem to be similar. Does anyone know the right part number for this? My KZ is a european version and I have attached a picture of old and new cables. It's not obvious but as you can see, the one on top is larger than the original one.

I have the 79 KZ750B and I know I did buy a new tach cable a few years back that did fit. Can't remember the place. Not sure how or why the European version would be different? Maybe somebody else has experience with the euro versions mine is US.

The one on top is clearly slightly larger in diameter.
I'd contact Z1Enterprises and see if they can order you the correct one.

Could double-check the part number, as kawasaki.com shows 54018-021.

According to kawasaki.com, 54018-024 fits the following models:

KL250-A1 (KLR250) (1978)
KL250-A1A (KLR250) (1978)
KL250-A2 (KLR250) (1979)
KZ200-A1 (1978)
KZ200-A1A (1978)
KZ200-A2 (1979)
KZ250-D1 (KZ250) (1980)
KZ250-D2 (CSR) (1981)
KZ250-L1 (CSR Belt) (1982)
KZ250-W1 (LTD Belt) (1983)

So I'd say you have the wrong cable, you need the 54018-021
