Yes,....you can put oil all over the cams and shims, buckets, etc. It will not hurt anything in fact that entire area should be lubed.

Apparently, the previous owner decided to mess with the timing and the advancer was put in 180 retarded, so there was no way it was going to start ever haha. So i flipped the advancer to it's correct position, put in a new set of points, timed it statically, one shot of starter fluid and 1 kick and it started right up. So as of right now, I'm about $615 in and have a perfectly running bike. So that definitely frees up some money to build it up which makes me pretty happy. Thanks for the help guys.
