Kick Start Pedal-1979 KZ750 B was created by ahaviand1431
I have bought three used kickers at this point and am about to have to purchase my fourth… The splines in the boss on the pedal have not been in the best of ways on all three occasions and have subsequently worn after some use.

My question is, is there a compatible boss out there that I could replace the boss on my pedal with? It would be a less expensive way of replacing the worn part rather than replacing the whole pedal. Also, it would make it easier to locate a suitable pedal to use seeing as I MAY have already bought all of the available used pedals out there for this model... I am sure that the splines on the kick start shaft its self are in good shape. I think I have just had bunk luck with the three I have purchased thus far.

Any advice would be appreciated!

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationInstead of used, how about buying a new one?

The diagrams show two different parts, depending upon the kick pedal, but here's one of them.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI think he's looking for the boss for a 1979 KZ750-B4. Apparently, they are not made as well as the ones for the KZ650 or they didn't make as many extras, so most replacements have already been bought and used. Here's the only one I was able to find, and apparently the seller believes it is made of 24k gold. The sad part is that when they were still available from Kawasaki they cost $36. I suspect this eBay seller has a long wait, but if someone is desperate enough he may sell it for big bucks. Ed

I don't think that is the proper part for a 750 twin. the correct part number is 13061-010, and it's been superseded to 13061-024, and both are no longer available.

Are you tightening the pinch bolt to the appropriate torque spec? It's really rare for the splines to strip, rare enough I've never heard of it happening on a 750 twin, and you've done it three times.
Either you haven't been tightening the pinch bolt enough, or the spline on the shaft is bad.

EDIT:
And Ed beat me again!

I suspect a bunch have been sold to people restoring H1 And H2 triples.
