D&G Clutch Release Kit was created by 79MKII
Hello All,
On my '79 MKII, I'm using a PMFR clutch release kit. I tried unsuccessfully to order another one for my '78 KZ1000 A and ended up with a D&G kit instead.
Does anybody have a D&G installed on their motorcycle? There is an extra hole on it...not sure if I got shorted a bolt and spacer or what?
So the kit came with (5) bolts and spacers. I have them installed as shown below, exactly like the PMFR kit bolts up. The D&G has the extra hole just below the shift shaft...should I have received a 6th bolt and spacer? It seems to line up perfectly with the phillips screw on the trans cover. I looked up the part on the D&G web site and it shows (7) bolts and spacers...that can't be right either. Any thoughts??
Thanks

Does it line up with a screw head, I see one in the vicinity?
If it lines up, I would question it with D&G.
You can run as-is though with no problem.
I like the D&G one better.

Heard back from D&G..this kit can be used on the KZ or the J model....the other brands have a separate part for the J model. The extra hole, to the right and below the shift shaft, is not used on the KZ motor. I think I'll put a short, matching allen head bolt in there with a nut or maybe a plug of some sort....just to make it look a little more finished.
The one thing I do like better about the PMFR unit...the bolt heads are countersunk and look way better, IMO.
