KZ1000R chain conversion 630 to 530 was created by tommyboah
i am thinking about doing a chain conversion on my KZ1000R going from the stock 630 to 530. I already have a brand new set of sprockets and 630 chain ready to go, but someone told me that i should change to 530. Is it worth the effort?

Thanks.

You have a small gain in less unsprung weight. The biggest advantage to making the conversion is the wide variety and prices of 530 chains vs. 630 chains.
If you already have the chain and sprocket set I would use them. Next time you need a set, do the conversion.

I swapped to the 530 chain on my GPz1100 powered ELR clone. The is a more selections for chain and sprockets with the 530 chain and it is also cheaper.
