I'm unsure if its supposed to be dual pipes or not. This header came with the project. What is it?

Finding a match might be a bit tricky. I have two Kerker pipes that are basically the same shape (both headers are bent to allow access to the oil filter) and look pretty much identical from 10 feet. But the megaphones are not interchangeable between the two piples. The bend in the header leading up to the magaphone is slightly different, and the length of that last bit of pipe is different.

I don't have any idea if the pipes I have are from different time periods, or if these two were intended for different models (say LTD vs. "A" model). Maybe someone else is familiar with the various flavors of Kerker KZ1000 pipes? Anyone?

Hi Turboking,

Just responding to some fairly recent (in the last year) posts regarding your Z1R exhaust. I'm in the process of doing a concours restoration of 1978 Z1R (identical to the one I used to ride as a teenager back in the 80's See picture) but I'm having a really hard time finding a nice stock exhaust to put on it.

So,… on the off chance I thought I'd see if you would want to see your headers go to a good home. Top dollar paid for a top set of headers, box and heat shields.

When you get a chance, if you could let me know.

Regards
Richard

"ROD" your thr rodder, go to your local muffler man kind of shop. A place that has the Hydraulic bender and a Hyd. svege machine make a few bends, couple small pieces, open up the end to fit the header just right, then throw a cheery bomb on it Ya got to ask an old man what a cherry bomb is!
Then paint it all. Glad I just looked, I have a picture from last summer. It is similar to your rusted 4 into 1. I pieced this $400 76 900 together Look at the small silver pipe in the middle, car exhaust piece, opened up at lip to fit. That back muffler was from a CBR Honda.
Ya gotta work with what ya got!
That bike went to "KAZ" in Cali. then on to Japan Got $1900 for it, never even started it. Early 76 VIN frame matching engine # 88,900

OH, I already got street rodder with the exhaust. Going to have the header coated black but got this at my local Pep Boys for $36. Wanted it loud. It's about 13" long and polished stainless steel.
