Kz1000 engine overhaul
20 Jan 2014 16:36
Greetings fellows..........
Any one know of a place where I can get my 1978 KZ1000a2 motor overhauled that won't cost an arm and a leg?
Just looking for a good, stock complete rebuild.
any ideas?
I have contacted Redline Cycle in Skokie, and Jim doesn't have any more cores, he sold them all.

What specifically are you looking to do? Usually the bottom end will last a long time (I have 50k on my motor),...is there a problem or do you just want to get it done. If you do not need the bottom end redoone then you can focus on the pistons and cylinders, vavles, etc. I would spend the money on the top end of the motor.

Thanks, Jim..............
The motor has about 37K on it and the tranny is howling and vibrating on the low end, also an oil leak that I cannot find on the lower right side somewhere, plus smoking(rings probably). I want to keep this thing around for awhile, and would like to start afresh.
