2002 KZ1000P Exhaust- choices? was created by ckamin
Howdy! I recently purchased a '02 KZ1000P Police bike with only 22,000 miles on it. Love it (specially after changing the gearing to make it more freeway-friendly)! Are there any aftermarket choices for a replacement exhaust system? I like the stock system and I'm cleaning the bike up a bit, but a replacement stock system is really pricey. I saw MAC systems on ebay and I wonder if anybody has used them and can relay info on fit/finish. Also, are there any other options?
Thanks guys,

I'm using my stock system, but not the mufflers. One of my stock mufflers rusted and fell off (before I got the bike). I bought a pair of Cherry Bombs and some adapters.
Eventually, I'll get this thing running and will post videos when I do...

Stock for the "P" Model? or the KZ1000 in general?
The stock exhaust for the P model was a dual exhaust with a crossover under the transmission, much like the exhaust system above. Lots of the Z1000s you see have 'upgraded' to something a little more like the Kerker 4-into-1, a single can exhaust typically exiting on the right side of the bike. At this point in the life of the model, both end up looking pretty stock. With the exception of the color and a few profile nits, the Cherry Bombs aren't really that different than many common dual exhausts.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationmurqulza posted the following item in the ebbaayy-CL topic. I don't know what bikes the system fits, but the KZTooG the seller mentioned in the listing may indicate that it is for a 1000. To my eye it looks too big for a 650 or 750. If it's for an earlier 1000, I don't know if it would work on a late model Police bike w a J motor.
By murquiza: Found a nice exhaust in ebay. I already bought mine but someone might use this.
